What About Tomorrow

The Jony James Blues Band (pronounced John-nie) dares to be different. Throw any preconceived notions out the window and open your mind and ears to the sounds of some truly inspired songwriting and tasty playing from this Buffalo, NY trio. Jony’s original compositions are contemporary blues rooted songs. Jony’s
wonderfully inventive guitar skills are as good
as anyone on the current scene but the notes
are played to serve the song. And Jony’s songs are what sets him ahead of the blues pack where songs have often become excuses for self-indulgent guitar solos. There’s plenty of great guitar playing on this disc but dig the words and music, too. Jony’s songs touch the world we live in today as well as anybody who is writing in the blues genre. Jony’s blues are his own and he doesn’t play it safe. The true essence of an important artist is to be yourself. Listen and be challenged. And always dare to be different.

IN This World

Destinctive, exciting & intelligent are the words that come to mind when asked to describe the songs, singing and guitar playing of Jony (pronounced John-nie) James. Born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Chicago (where he played with Chicago Blues legends Eddie Taylor and J.B. Hutto), Jony learned blues guitar listening to Albert King, Otis Rush, Buddy Guy & B.B. King. While these are his influences Jony's Blues are his own.

The Jony James Blues Band are one hell of a band. "They are as good as any and better then most on the blues scene today & In This World
is one of the freshest Blues releases in recent memory"
